Green strands caught inside quartz.

Green hair quartz is a variety of quartz filled with fine green fibrous minerals that look like strands of hair, weaving intricate patterns through the stone. The green comes from minerals such as chlorite or actinolite, trapped in the quartz as it crystallized.

Over time the quartz weathered and broke into smaller pieces, which are tumbled smooth to show off the hair-like inclusions.
